Harrodsburg, IN Trip
You are here: MineralCollecting.org >> Posted Articles >> Articles 24

by Richard Harrison

Harrodsburg exit road cut on 37 good site both East and West sides. Second road cut past exit both sides produced good geodes. Monroe County road cut and road cuts at marker 4 on 446 produced mostly solid center and chalcedony in them. Route 58 creek at the new bridge totally full of geodes quartz and chalcedony centers. Get all you can haul there. Little creek off Old 37 creek bed full of Brown Jasper/Chert? The road cuts around Harrodsburg did yield some Millerite with Quartz, Dolomite/Pyrite, some of the calcite filled centers when soaked had yellow gemmy barite crystals inside. Be careful what you throw away. The cops didn't bother us at all. Have fun.
